Reporting Security Incidents in Work-From-Home Environment
Maharashtra's IGP, Brijesh Singh, on the Need for Information SharingOrganizations that have shifted to a remote workforce as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic should help in the battle against cybercrime by reporting all security incidents to law enforcement officials for investigation, says Brijesh Singh, inspector general of police, the government of Maharashtra.

“We need a legal regime for mandatory reporting, as the cost of security is eternal vigilance and enterprises cannot slip off even for a day,” Singh says in a video interview with Information Security Media Group.
He also offers insights on:
- The need for information sharing and collaboration;
- How the expanding attack surface making enterprises vulnerable to new cyber scams;
- The need for a standard operating procedure in dealing with cybercrime scams and threats.
Singh, inspector general of police for the government of Maharashtra, formerly was the IG of Criminal Investigation Department. He also is the designated special inspector general - women atrocity prevention and cybercrime, a special authority created by the Maharashtra government to tackle cyberthreats.
