Identifying the 'Unknowns' With Purpose-Built Sensors
Debashish Jyotiprakash of Qualys on Ways to Navigate Complex Attack SurfaceToday's big challenge for practitioners is identifying the "known and unknown" attack surface faster than the hackers. There is a need to build purpose-built sensors and asset management strategies to discover unknown attacks, says Debashish Jyotiprakash, vice president - Asia at Qualys.
To build continuous monitoring and visibility strategy, he says, "identifying a section of a team that is doing this continuous attack surface discovery program is important, and there is a need to build purpose-built sensors to identify containers, mobile devices, cloud workloads, dark web data and premier devices to discover the unknowns."
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at ISMG's Cybersecurity Summit in New Delhi, Jyotiprakash discusses:
- How to enhance the security posture of the organization in the perimeterless environment;
- Building adequate visibility across systems;
- Using automation for building an effective integration and orchestration program.
Jyotiprakash is vice president - Asia at Qualys, responsible for sales, marketing, channel management and company success in the region. With more than 18 years of multi-industry experience, he is a cybersecurity evangelist and has held leadership roles at major technology companies.
