ESDS Ramps Up Data Centers for AI Workloads
ESDS Software Solution's Sajiv Nair on Data Center Growth and AI IntegrationThe increasing demand for AI-ready infrastructure has prompted ESDS Software Solution to rethink its data center expansion strategy, emphasizing sustainability alongside technological advancement. Apart from India, ESDS also has a global footprint, offering managed services in the Middle East with offices in other countries. It also offers hosting services through its global partners.
"We are seeing [demand] for IT services, cloud and data centers. We currently have five data centers, and we plan to expand based on need. We have offerings for expanding to two to three data centers in the coming months.," said Sajiv Nair, CIO and CISO at ESDS Software Solution.
The company also plans to build environmentally responsible facilities to handle next-generation AI workloads while maintaining a reduced carbon footprint. "We have set up a separate environmental, social and governance - ESG - team," he said. "From the onset, we have been making sure that we have the right components in our data center, which are not very power or heat hungry, or which reduce the carbon footprint. So we have been very sensitive to those facts," he said.
The rapid evolution of data centers to accommodate AI workloads brings cybersecurity to the forefront. The convergence of AI-ready infrastructure and security measures requires a holistic approach, where organizations must balance performance capabilities with robust security frameworks to protect sensitive data and maintain operational resilience in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Nair also discussed:
- Strategies for integrating AI capabilities into existing data center infrastructure;
- Implementation of renewable energy sources across facilities;
- Plans for expanding managed security services in global markets.
Nair has more than 25 years of diversified experience in project management, IT infrastructure operations and solution architecture across multiple sectors. He leads strategic initiatives to enhance cybersecurity measures and align IT with business objectives.
