In the face of an increasing number of ransomware attacks against OT systems, business continuity is more crucial than ever. Church & Dwight, a leading American consumer goods major, is implementing robust cybersecurity measures and continuous monitoring to manage its enterprise OT environment including several manufacturing plants.

To mitigate risks to its OT systems, the company partnered with Rockwell Automation in 2020 to launch a cybersecurity initiative that included assessing its systems based on the NIST framework, implementing key controls and establishing a security operations center to enhance threat detection, vulnerability management and incident response.

"Cyberattacks necessitate preparedness and resilience in both cyber and business domains. CISOs must work to minimize risks to their OT environments by enhancing the organization's preparedness for cybersecurity, disaster recovery, business continuity and crisis management," said David Ortiz, global CISO at Church & Dwight.

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Ortiz also discussed:

  • The importance of disaster recovery, business continuity and crisis management in OT security;
  • Church & Dwight’s cybersecurity program and partnership with Rockwell Automation;
  • Getting the basics right in the shifting threat landscape.

Ortiz has more than 20 years of experience in developing, implementing and managing transformative cybersecurity strategies globally. At Church & Dwight, he has been instrumental in transforming the company's global information security strategy and strengthening cloud security and cyber operations.
