Cloud Security: Using the Right Technologies

Sophos’ Aaron Bugal Discusses Risk Management

As organizations move more data to the cloud, they must take essential security steps, including leveraging IAM and managing access rights, says Aaron Bugal, global solutions engineer, APJ, at Sophos.

Bugal also warns that migration to the cloud can prove costly if organizations are uninformed. "They haven't selected the right services, so they're over-consuming resources, and the cost has spiraled out of control," he says.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Bugal also discusses:

  • Why the journey to the cloud has increased security risks for some organizations;
  • Why IAM is an important tool in the cloud;
  • How to take a balanced approach to moving to the cloud.

Bugal has been with Sophos for more than 12 years. He started out as a senior sales engineer in 2006 and moved to his current position as global solutions engineer in October 2017. Based in Melbourne, he spends the majority of his time helping organizations throughout the Asia-Pacific region and Japan effectively deploy and use Sophos’ gateway, endpoint, network and encryption systems.
