AARA treats over 1,400 patients daily across the state, delivering healthcare for specialized conditions, including arthritis and rheumatology. Peterson sheds light on the "pivotal role of data, AI and cybersecurity" in driving the organization's expansion and enhancing patient experiences.
In addition to deploying a world-class electronic health record (EHR) system, AARA's tech team is set to launch an app that will harness data from EHR systems and patient-doctor interactions to automate crucial processes, such as rapid analysis of test results and precise treatment prescriptions.
"Despite many advances in healthcare technology, the industry faces challenges like change management and regulatory constraints. While deploying technology is relatively easy, practitioner adoption remains a formidable task," Peterson said.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Peterson also discussed:
- The growing importance of AI in healthcare;
- Analyzing data for deriving efficiency across processes;
- Perils of poor cybersecurity posture on healthcare.
Peterson is a technology leader with more than 24 years of experience. Prior to joining AARA, he spent six years as the director of information technology at OneGuard and another six years as the chief architect and technology director at Glendale Elementary School District.
