AI and Advanced Research Shape the Future of Healthtech
Sehaaonline's Chowhan on Creating a Health Intelligence Platform for EldercareSehaaonline, a leading marketplace for post-operative equipment, is migrating to a more advanced platform. Serving millions of customers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait, the company has identified significant market gaps, especially in post-operative and eldercare, said Piyush Chowhan, co-founder and CTO, Sehaaonline.
The marketplace is built on AWS cloud with a Magento e-commerce solution and a React-based frontend. The new version of the platform, Sehaa 2.0, will use advanced technologies such as AI and analytics to better understand patient behavior, as well as offer tailored recommendations and competitive pricing through real-time marketplace comparisons on handheld devices.
Sehaa 2.0 will use general-purpose large language models such as ChatGPT or Gemini, integrating the platform's health-specific data and insights to create a unique layer of intelligence, Chowhan said. This aligns with global research by tech giants Microsoft and Google, making Sehaaonline's solution complementary.
By 2050, people aged 60 or over will increase from 1 billion in 2020 to 2.1 billion, according to a WHO report, requiring extensive mobility solutions and disease management. "Our research into patient recovery methods and protocols will be fed into an open-source generative AI platform, creating a health intelligence platform that provides personalized and accurate medical advice like a chatbot," Chowhan said.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Chowhan also discussed:
- Sehaa 2.0 attributes and the need to develop a scalable, AI-enabled marketplace;
- Leveraging gen AI for future-ready healthcare solution innovation;
- Setting up a comprehensive health community for better research and responsible AI.
